Who am I? by Emma Ross

Who am I?

Soaring
So high
I touch the sky
Then, looking for a passer-by
I swoop to steal some chips.

Big and fat –
I don’t like cats –
I stomp across your roof,
My webbed feet echoing
Like horse’s hoofs.

Floating on water
Flocking together
Stalking the pavement
Scavenging dustbins
To search for a titbit or treat
Amidst discarded leftovers.

Annoyingly squawking
With not a care in the world –

Far and wide
In city or seaside
Noisy and proud for all to see –
A seagull, that’s me.
